On Tuesday evening, citing the Lugansk People’s Republic (LNR) media centre, the website Vgorode reported that active hostilities temporarily ceased near Shastye, «Representatives of the Army of the Southeast made a truce with the ‘National Guard’ (sic)». LNR spokesman Oksana Chigrina said, “A truce has been in effect for some time. We don’t know how long it will be for, but during this time the two sides will remove wounded and dead soldiers”.


ITAR-TASS reported that all-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) confirmed the death of journalist Igor Kornelyuk near Lugansk. «The VGTRK reporter wounded in a shelling near Lugansk has died». VGTRK noted that cameraman Viktor Denisov, who worked with Kornelyuk, is alive. Kornelyuk was 37, he was born in Zaporozhye Oblast in the Ukraine.
